Join in the fun of learning how to make your own cardboard sled at a workshop hosted by Salem Parks and Recreation Department and Salem Public Library on February 7, 2018 at 6:30 pm at the Salem Memorial Building. Terry Smith, aka Dr. Cardboard, will guide you through the cardboard sled building process. Those attending the workshop will have a chance to win the sleds that Dr. Cardboard constructs during the program. Please register by calling Shane Franks at 330-332-5512 or by going online at or call 330-332-0042 for registration assistance.

Salem Public Library and Salem Parks & Recreation Department invites you to participate in their 3rd annual Cardboard Sled Run on Saturday, February 24th at Kelley Park in Salem. This fun, family oriented “Go Wild in the Park” program is open to individuals, families, schools and/or classrooms, clubs, organizations and businesses. All you need to bring is your cardboard sled, we will provide the hill and hot drinks and Mother Nature will hopefully take care of the rest.
Both programs are open to the public and free of cost to attend.
