Outreach Services
Homebound Service:
A partnership between Salem Public Library and Mobile Meals of Salem provides the opportunity for Salem area residents enrolled in the Mobile Meals service to receive library materials on a regular basis. For those who no longer visit the library on a regular basis this service helps to enrich the quality of life. This service is free of charge.

Outreach to Senior Living and Skilled Nursing Facilities:
The library provides delivery of specially selected library materials to Salem area senior care facilities for the enjoyment and enrichment of their residents. Done on a monthly basis, materials include large and regular fiction and non-fiction books, DVDs, music CDs and books on CD.

Salem Area Adult Daycare Lincoln Place Apartments
Brookdale –Sterling House of Salem Smith Center

Newborn Outreach:
“Baby Packets” – The library provides informational packets to Salem Community Hospital’s New Beginnings Family Care Center to be shared with families of new infants. Each packet contains information helpful in encouraging parents to use library materials to foster the development of early literacy skills in their children. The packets are free of charge and given to welcome each baby into a world of wonder and possibility.
